These heart shaped eggs are too cute. They are perfect as a Valentine's Day breakfast or just a fun everyday dish.

  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 tbs butter

  1. Grab a slice of bread. I used white but wheat works great as well.
  2. Butter both sides. You can alternately melt a pat of butter in the pan or a bit of oil or spray oil, but I love the crispy edges you get when you butter both sides.
  3. Use a cookie cutter to make your shape.
  4. Place into a small pan on medium low. I like to keep it low so the egg has time to set and the bread has time to toast.
  5. Crack an egg into your hole, add salt and pepper as desired. If you think it might stick, spray a bit of nonstick spray into the hole before adding the egg.
  6. When the edges and bottom of your egg start to set, gently flip your bread and cook until the desired doneness. 2 minutes on each side usually works best for me.
