  • 4-5 mozzarella cheese sticks or block mozzarella cut into sticks
  • 8 slices of sandwich-style pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup of pizza sauce
  • About 1/2 a pound of packaged pizza dough or 1/4 of the Serious Eats Recipe
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings of choice

  1. Preheat your oven to 550.
  2. Cut all your cheese sticks in half and wrap in the pepperoni set aside.
  3. Prepare your pan with a tablespoon or so of olive oil and a sprinkle of cornmeal.
  4. Roll out your dough into a big circle, about 2 inches wider (2 on each side) than you want your end pizza to be. Transfer to your baking pan.
  5. Place your cheese wrapped sticks about 1-1.5 inches from the edge. Stretch and wrap your extra dough around the cheese sticks, tucking the extra dough under.
  6. Make your pizza, spreading your sauce thin and evenly on the dough, then adding a sprinkle of cheese and any desired toppings.
  7. Bake your pizza for about 10 minutes, turning halfway through. Before removing, use a fork to lift and check that the underside of the pizza is browned.
  8. Allow to sit for a few minutes before serving and enjoy!
