Instructions
Baking the cupcakes
Stand the cones up to bake.
Pour your cake batter halfway up the ice cream cones.
Gently put your pan in the oven, making sure not to tip any.
Bake as per the instructions of your recipe, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Decorating the cupcakes
Scoop your frosting on to your cupcakes. Use a spring-loaded ice cream scoop to place a rounded scoop of frosting on top of your cupcake.
Use a butter knife to smooth out the dome and make sure the cupcake is totally covered.
Dip the cone into brown sprinkles.
Gently press the sprinkles in with the cupped palm of your hand. This helps to round it out and make sure they are stuck on.
Use a finger to wipe along the edge of the cone to create a clean line.
Cut a mini marshmallow in half. Press the cut side into the side of your microphone as buttons. If you need to, secure with frosting
Recipe Notes
I like baking the cupcakes standing in a cupcake pan, but it's really not necessary. You can also do them standing on a cookie sheet.
I use cake mix when making these, and they took about 20 minutes to bake.
If you're using canned frosting, whip it up a bit to give some volume.
