Egg in a Hole Recipe for Kids

Egg in a hole is a simple, beginner recipe is an easy breafast for busy mornings

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 tablespoon of butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Butter both sides of the bread with the softened butter.
  2. Cut a hole in the center of the bread about 2 inches wide.
  3. Add the bread to a pan heated to medium low.
  4. Crack egg and add to center of the bread. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook about 2 minutes or until egg is set and bread underneath is golden brown before gently flipping and cooking another minute or two, depending on desired firmness of the egg.

Recipe Notes

If you don't like who eggs, feel free to break the yolk or scramble the egg before adding.

 

Traditionally, my dad used a shot glass but kids will find a small cookie cutter much more fun!
