Happy Memorial Day, friends! How are you enjoying your weekend? We haven’t been doing much since Alex has been working all weekend, but we’re still fitting in some time to celebrate Ryan turning 3! Today I thought I’d stop in and share some of my favorite moments going on over at the Wieboldt house lately!
Ryan is now 3. Halp. Excuse me while I go cry all over the place. I tried really hard to get a cute picture like a good Instagrammer of Ryan with one of those number balloons and this is about as good as it got…
Every year I take a photo of Ryan asleep the night before his birthday and this year he looks SO SO old. If you’ve bene reading for some time, you know that Memorial Day is a special day for me, since I met Alex on Memorial day and Ryan was born on Memorial Day 3 years later.
Alex has been working mostly 14 hour days, 7 days a week for a few weeks so I’ve been just trying to keep the house in one piece and the kids alive. If you’ve noticed less posts than normal, that is why. Some days, it’s too much so I struggle through the bare minimum (dishes, diapers, and dinner) and just hang out with the boys.
Ryan’s birthday celebrating began on Wednesday when my mom came over with presents, cake, and party hats. I couldn’t get one of the boys to wear one for much of any time, and this is the best I could get on film hahaha
Thursday we went to my dad’s and went birthday present shopping – my dad got him a cool playset that we’ll set up soon – and ate all of Ryan’s fave foods. Pizza for lunch, Lo mein for dinner. He was a happy kid.
Alex was working on Friday so I mostly ran errands and tried to make it fun for Ry. We went to Target and got cake pops from Starbucks, had yogurt with whipped cream and sprinkles for breakfast, PBJ for lunch,
And watermelon and Cars mac and cheese for dinner. Not the healthiest day, but it was his birthday.
Friday night while he slept I made the most Ryan cake ever. (BTW a tutorial is coming this week!)
My MIL came and gave Ry hi birthday present Saturday – look at that happy little face.
This nugget has been so grumpy, but on the few moments over the weekend it wasn’t raining he enjoyed roaming the backyard too (okay, and sitting in Ryan’s tractor’s trailer.)
And now it’s Memorial day and pouring. Lovely. I’ll be cleaning my house and trying to keep the kiddos from losing their minds. Anyone know of any good Memorial Day sales? Let me know in the comments!
