Happy birthday, Ryan! You’ve made it to THREE! You’re kind of a maniac, so there were definitely times when three was questionable (I kid, mostly.) but you’ve made it three whole years in on piece. I’m so lucky to be your momma – you made me into a momma, have taught me patience (and then some) and make me laugh every single day. You’re such a good big brother to Owen, even if I find you two in more headlocks than hugs, and he’s such a lucky kid to have you to teach him everything. You’ve learned and grown SO MUCH over the past year and it’s amazing!

Does anyone else hear the Hallelujah chorus anytime their toddler takes a nap? This kid hasn't taken consistent, reliable naps since he turned 2 so when he passed out on the couch I was dancing while I did the slick bed transfer

This year, you moved into a big boy bed! You still fight sleep, but I forsee that being a lifelong struggle.

Here's hoping you're enjoying your Monday as much as this kid enjoyed his first orange vanilla twist yesterday. . . . #momlife #toddlerlife #toddlersofig #njmom #njblogger #kohrs #ig_motherhood #littlemoments #candidchildhood #motherhoodrising #icecream #summerdays #flashesofdelight #buzzfeedparents #huffpostparents #motherhoodthroughinstagram

You had your first ice cream come this year – a fan, just like your momma.

It''s cold and showing outside and we're all getting a little stir crazy, so I pulled out my secret weapon: baking! I love that Ryan's starting to get to an age where he can help more and more – he's turning into quite the sous chef! How do you keep your sanity when you're stuck indoors?

You’ve become such a big help – you love getting things from other rooms for me, helping me make dinner, and cleaning up.

You took your first trip to DISNEY!

Ryan got his first 'big' boo boo – a trip outside resulted in a nice sized egg and a small cut – but the mom guilt is real, you guys. From guilt from letting it happen to guilt for making it hurt more when I cleaned the cut out, all I want to do is make him feel better. (I should note, he was back to normal in no time at all, it's all on my end) so right now he's eating bread in his Power Wheels that Alex brought inside and watching Lion Guard. When was the last time your mom guilt kicked in hard?

You’ve taken your fair share of spills – but we make it worth your while. As much as it scares me, I hope you never lose your fearlessness.

A few hours and a 15 miles south and you've got what almost looks like spring. New Jersey is weird. . Can we please just talk about how happy this kid is? This was a just 2 minutes of playing in a small grass spot of a parking lot but the pure joy was contagious. I want to be more conscious about finding utter joy and happiness in simple moments, because as adults we definitely lose that ability. . So tell me: What simple thing is bringing YOU happiness today?

I’ve never met a person – adult or child – who enjoys life more than you. Even when you’re upset, your crying jags usually end in uncontrollable giggles.

Everyone in our house has a cold Alex brought home from work, so we're sticking to the house for the most part. Here's to making your own fun! How do you have fun indoors when your kiddos are feeling icky?

Cooper was still your best friend of all time.

Mommas with kids who were born close together: this is the kind of moment to look forward to. There is nothing sweeter than built in best friends for life. . There have been moments in the past 9+ months where I questioned my sanity and if my little lovebugs were plotting against me. (the verdict's still out) Each day gets simultaneously easier and harder as they get older. But then something like this happens; I get a glimpse into the future of raising two best friends who will always be there for one another and it's all worth it.

But Owen is definitely fighting to be a contender. I love watching you two play together – I am so happy that God gave you a little brother to play with and love.

If you know my family, you probably know that Alex regularly gets a new car – he's always buying, selling, or trading for a different vehicle. πŸš—πŸšœπŸššπŸš˜It's the perfect situation for our car obsessed boy, but I think this one will be staying for a while. When it pulled up, Ryan let out the biggest, "WOW!!" And ran for the door. He's been staring at daddy's new "fire truck" all morning πŸš’ πŸ˜‚

Your truck love was strong this year. I don’t think you’ll ever lose that deep love.

walked in to this kid watching cartoons like this. mind you, I begged and begged him to take a pacifier as a baby.

You’re such a goofball – you can make anyone laugh in 15 seconds flat.

You dressed up for the first time this year and went trick or treating!

I love you my little love bug. You’re the best kid a momma could ask for and I can’t wait to see what this next year will bring. Happy birthday, Ryan Richard!

Happy birthday to your little guy! Such a cutie πŸ™‚ Also, I’m new to your blog and so happy to see your Disney post! We’re taking our little guy in Dec when he’ll be 15 months (not the ideal age, but it’s a larger family trip) and I’m definitely a little anxious about how that will go…thanks for all of the tips!
