Ask any parent what two, sure-fire foods are for kids under 10 and they’ll probably give you some form of “chicken nuggets and pizza.” Maybe throw in PB&J or hot dogs but let’s be real, kids love chicken nuggets and pizza.

Halloween Chicken Nuggets Make Perfect Mummy Snacks

Which brings us to mummy chicken nuggets and pizza rolls. Not only are these super fun to eat, they’re a little more safe for young kids.

Bonus: they’re ridiculously easy to put together and use store bought items.

In fact, they literally only take 3 ingredients – crescent roll dough, (you could easily use any kind of raw sticky dough. So long and you can roll and cut it like pictured below.) sliced olives, and frozen pizza rolls and/or chicken nuggets.

Enjoy while listening to our favorite Halloween songs for kids!

How to make Mummy Snacks

  1. Preheat your oven to 350.
  2. Take an unrolled crescent roll and roll it out to make a thin even sheet before slicing the longest side into very thin strips.
  3. Take your frozen nuggets or pizza roll and press the end of your first strip into it to get it stuck on.
  4. Place your olives on as eyes and gently wind your dough around the secure the olives on. Repeat with 2-3 strips, depending on their length until you’ve got a little mummy.
  5. Place on your cookie sheet and repeat until you have the desired amount.
  6. Bake until the dough is golden and your pizza rolls/nuggets are cooked through. Mine took about 10 minutes.

You could probably use refrigerated chicken nuggets as well – I’m not sure what the cook time of that would look like since I tried it only with frozen ones. (I used KidFresh nuggets since my boys love them and they have hidden veggies that even I as an adult who know that there are veggies inside couldn’t detect. HIGHLY recommend it. )

Serve with your kids’ favorite dipping – if you want a little more gruesome action, serve the nuggets with ketchup and the rolls with marinara as ‘blood’.

Halloween Chicken Nuggets

These mummy snacks would be perfect for a party, a fun Halloween dinner, or even as a fun lunchbox addition. Feel free to assemble and then freeze for easy last minute meals! Just be sure to add a little bit to the final cook time and keep an eye on them a bit more while cooking.
