Happy, happy Friday, friends! I am really excited for the weekend because I’m pumped to just chill without much to do and then Sunday Alex’s family is having a pool party with a bunch of cousins around the boys’ ages so that will be fun. Side note – what do you call kids of your own cousins? Do your kids call them cousins? So confusing.
Anyway, it’s a Friday Favorites day! Let’s get to some fun things and crazy moments around here that have put a smile to my face!
We buzzed Ryan’s hair because it was getting long and it’s getting hot and I can’t get over how much he looks like baby Alex now. I mean, he is still essentially a small, boy me (seriously, besides piles of curls and a little more chub, he looks like a toddler Morgan.) but isn’t it funny how kids change as they age?
I’ve said before what a maniac Own is. Like, I’ve never met such a crazy kid. He’s a total climber, and recently he has been using the cat litter box, the dog food container to get onto the washing machine and check out what’s on the shelves up top. Seriously a maniac. I moved the cat litter container to the other side of the back room so I wouldn’t have to shut the door. YOU GUYS. This 20 pound nugget PUSHED IT over to where he wanted it. It weights 25-30 pounds. Halp.
Other reasons he’s a maniac – we stopped nursing and now I can’t nurse him back to sleep in the mornings. For 2-3 weeks he’s been up between 4 and 5, usually 430. I used to take him into bed with me and nurse him until he passed out and grabbed another hour or two, but not anymore. Now I drift in and out while he cuddles with me on the couch and watches Mickey Mouse. I’m tired, you guys.
So. We went to the grocery store the other day and I usually grab a bread and give some to the boys to keep them quiet. It was a particularly rough day and when Ryan started to treat himself to some bread I didn’t even care because at least he was happy. UNTIL I GOT THE BREAD HOME and noticed he had hollowed out a third of the bread. Le sigh.
The aftermath of late nights and early mornings. But I mean, at least they are dang cute.
When you steal your brother’s smoothie without him noticing and you now have 2. He was very impressed with himself.
Do you use Stitch Fix? I’m way obsessed with it since unless it’s from Target and I can grab it while I’m there and return it easily if it’s a no go, me and clothes shopping are not friends. I’m in love with this perfect maxi dress that I’ll probably wear non-stop all summer. Learn all about Stitch Fix here!
Owen is in love with Ryan’s Blaze blanket and sleeps with every night and drags it around the house. So far I’ve gotten lucky in Ryan not noticing or freaking out (thank goodness) and I’m hoping it stays that way. He’s so stinkin cute with it.
THESE SHORTS. YOU GUYS. I bought them and then immediately texted my mom bff to determine the rules on moms wearing shorts and we decided they I don’t care because omg you guys. These shorts. I’m not really into high waisted shorts but these are the most perfect shorts ever and they suck and smooth everything out and I’m going to buy them in every color. Yup.
Alright, my friends, I’m off. Here’s to hoping you have wonderful weather, good moods, and yummy food!
