Well, that fire truck has sat in Ryan’s room for a year, and every morning Owen goes in, looks at it, and screams, FIRE TRUCK!
Suffice to say, I’ve bred an obsession.
Owen officially loves all things fire trucks and fire fighters. In fact – this year he told me he wants to be a “fire truck” for Halloween – not a fire fighter but the dang truck. Let’s just say this momma has other ideas.
But because of his recent adoration, we’ve been looking for the best fire truck toys for kids. More importantly, they need to be first truck toys for toddlers, as Owen tends to get really frustrated with “big kid” toys, and Ryan always assumes anything not baby-ish is immediately his.

My girlfriend bought this for Ryan’s second birthday he he still loves it. We keep it at my dad’s since it needs a lot of floor space, but it does fold up small so it’s not a huge burden. Both Ryan and Owen love playing firefighter in it.
We’ve had this fire truck toy for 4 years AND it was a hand-me-down and it’s still in great condition. It’s pretty basic, but I love that this toddler fire truck toy really encourages kids to use their imaginations. It’s made of eco friendly materials and it’s super durable!
Ryan was a firefighter for Halloween last year which left me with a firefighter costume. This set is awesome and for all ages – nothing super small to choke on – and the fire extinguisher actually shoots real water (if you want it to.) Keep your toddler entertained for house using his imagination! Bonus: it’s washable for when your kiddo inevitably decides he needs to eat/sleep/bathe in it. You’re welcome.
