The Ergobaby Embrace is a baby carrier specifically targeted to have the ability to carry newborns and small babies from the start. With soft materials and hip safe features, you’ll love this carrier. Read on to check out our full Ergo Embrace Review.
I love using baby carriers for my babies. With my first, he has colic and wanted ot be carrier non stop. My second I had 2 under 2 and not a hand to spare. With my third, I’m working from home with 2 big kids so we’re always on the go.
With my first 2 I used Ergo structured carriers. While I loved them, I didn’t love having to use the newborn insert for my tiny babies. That’s why I was so excited to see the Embrace!

What is the Ergo Embrace?
The Ergo Embrace is a soft yet structured carrier for baby. It offers the comfort and snugness of a wrap without having the actually do the wrapping.
Like the traditional Ergobaby carriers, it’s acknowledged by the international Hip Dysplasia Institute as a hip healthy product.
The best part though is that of the 3 wearing modes, one is specifically for small babies and newborns 0-2 months, meaning it can be used without an additional insert.
How is it different than the Omni360?
I had an Omni360 with my last baby and while I loved it, I love this even more! It’s softer and in my opinion, easier to put on. It’s also much less bulky, so it folds up right into my small diaper bag.
Pros of the Ergo Embrace
I adore this carrier. I’ve had 3 Ergos (one for each kid) and while I loved the Ergo Ombi360, this one knocks it out of the park. Here’s why I love it.
- Perfect for little babies without an insert. I put my newborn in it and she was tiiiny, They give instructions for adjusting the carrier for bigger/smaller babies.
- Way way easier to put on than a wrap. Since it uses the buckles, it makes it so easy to put on and take off.
- Once you set the size, you can put it on and off without much fiddling.
- Easy to wash.
- Folds up super small.
- 3 modes – newborn, baby facing in, and baby facing out.
Cons of this carrier:
The only true complaint I have is that the way the traps are sewn, they can sometimes be hard to span your shoulders and move around a bit in Newborn mode. That being said, when I used a tie wrap, I had the same issue.
The other “issue” is that the fabric is a big heavy so it can be warm. That being said, I’ve worn it hiking in 90 degree weather and I’ve worked out in it just fine.
There’s definitely a limit for size (25 lbs), so if you have big babies or want to use this carrier into the toddler years you may need another carrier later.
Ergobaby Embrace Conclusion
Honestly, (and this is totally unpaid, I bought this with my own money and at my own will) this is my favorite carrier ever. It’d great for new moms and second or third time moms with no time to tie on a wrap. I cannot recommend it more.
