Looking to skip the classic? Today we’re sharing alternatives to a Diaper Genie. If you need a different way to toss out dirty baby products, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re changing a boy or a baby girl diaper, you’re gonna have a lot of stink things to toss.

A few months ago we shared a post called “Do you need a Diaper Genie?” and you all loved it! While I’m a huge DG fan, many were asking for alternates.

Why look at a Diaper Genie Alternative?

If you’re new to baby diapers, you might not realize that there are other options than the OG. But there are some great reasosn to look into it.

  • Better looking.
  • Smaller (or larger!) footprint.
  • Less expensive.
  • Eco friendly.

What you don’t necessarily need a diaper pail, they definitely make the days of being a new mom easier. It’s a great addition to your minimalist baby registry and perfect for a bedroom nursery.

If you’re keeping baby in your room, you definitely don’t want to be smelling those stinky diapers!

How do I dispose of diapers without a diaper pail?

Obviously, the first alternative is using your normal trash. The downside to that is that you’ll have to take out your trash more to avoid stink, but it’s not a huge deal.

It’s also not a kid or pet proof option, so if you have a pup who loves diapers like we do, it’s not a great solution.

So what are these alternatives to the Diaper Genie?

If you’re looking for something more specific, here are more diaper pail options:

Ubbi Steel Odor Locking Diaper Pail

This option comes in a dozen colors and patterns including an attractive light grey chevron and needs no special bags which is a huge perk.

The material of this diaper pail is steel, meaning it won’t absorb smells or stains like plastic. Finally, it has a childproof lock, perfect for curious toddlers.

Dekor Classic Hands-Free Diaper Pail

With a simple, no-touch step and drop system, there’s no bending or ick when throwing out your dirty diapers. It features a special plastic-type that acts like metal (no absorbed smells) but doesn’t rust.

Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail

The easy one hand system, it’s easy to toss dirty diapers with a baby on your hip. Bonus, it comes with a deodorizer to absorb and smells that are lingering.

Skip Hop Diaper Pail with Dual Air-Lock

This option is perfect for a diaper changing station. It’s made of steel so it’s easy to wipe clean and doesn’t absorb smells. Bonus, it comes with a storage self to hold diapers and wipes.
