Hello, friends! How was your weekend? Did the Easter bunny visit you? We didn’t do any fun Easter-y things because this momma is too tired and Ryan’s still too little to care or even know what the Easter bunny is, so it worked out.
I’m still home-bound as per Alex’s rules (he’s a liiiiitttlle overprotective, ha!) so I stayed home all weekend and yes, I’m getting antsy. But it’s worth it for baby boy to no get the ickies and for my to heal quicker. Anyway, let’s get to the fun stuff – pictures! Since I was home most of the weekend, it’s mostly baby pictures, but I mean.. adorable.
Saturday morning started like this. I gave big boy a bowl of yogurt and after getting bored using a spoon or dipping in apples, he decided to start dipping his entire face into it…oh boy.. though the yogurt beard is very becoming on him!
Ryan’s thing this weekend has been forcing me to pick him up and let him sit on the nursing pillow with Owen and watching TV that way. I kind of love it.
I think the worst part about being stuck at home is that Alex is doing my grocery shopping. My house is empty of food, you guys. It’s a mix of a. I can never think of what I want when I’m giving him a list of what to get, b. he forgets things even WITH a list, and c. I tend to go grocery shopping and biy a few extra things while I’m there and he doesn’t at all. So lunch was fries, one russet and one sweet potato. Plus a lot of unpictured ketchup <333
Alex came home with steaks and tiny multicolored potatoes and I had a bag of frozen broccoli in the freezer to make one tasty, tasty dinner. Also, this is how 2/3 of my meals are eaten – baby in the bouncer. (the other 1/3 are eaten while holding him if you were wondering haha!)
On Easter, Alex took Ryan to the New York Auto Show. I was pretty happy since I know Ryan craves one on one time again, so a special day out with daddy was fun for him. I got to stare at this nugget all day.
I tried out a wrap carried for the first time, and to be 100% honest I’m not sure I did it right? He was snug as a bug and napped, but I was still nervous. I need to watch some videos on how to wrap it the easiest. I got a ton of cleaning done while Ryan was away, and even more while not having to pick up Owen every few minutes. Spring cleaning for the win.
As nice as it was to get stuff done sans toddler, it was even nicer to have all of my boys back in one place. Some more cuddling happened. I really need to check my hair before taking selfies.
After dinner (steak and potatoes again – ladies, don’t send your husbands out for dinner without a plan.) we had some family cuddle time on the couch. It’s such a nice feeling to have all four of us just hanging out together. Love these boys so, so much. Also, for some reason at night in our living room, my phone takes terrible pictures. Whatever.
Aaaaand now I’m off to go eat some Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked. ; )
How was your weekend? Did you celebrate Easter? Ever been to the NY Auto Show? Let me know in the comments!
In case you missed it, 2 posts went live this weekend!

Owen has the BIGGEST eyes! Sending Alex out for groceries usually isn’t too terribly bad, but it is inevitable that he forgets something. I think the funniest part of the whole experience of him doing the shopping is that, and this is even though he and I do the shopping TOGETHER most of the time, without me, he has no clue where anything is and it takes him forever to shop!
Morgan says
Hahahahah yes! I don’t get it. He’ll seriously call me and be like, where is XYZ. Or the other day I wrote tomatoes for Ryan and he called to ask what kind. It’s humorous.
Heather @ Polyglot Jot says
what a cutie! 🙂 I cant even imagine what would happen if i sent my husband to the grocery store without a list. thats so frustrating! haha
Morgan says
It definitely is. I mean, I appreciate him taking the reigns and doing it, but I’m just like.. I asked for four things!! How did you not get them?!??!
Jessie @ The Acquired Sass says
That’s too funny about sending Alex out for groceries. Mine does fine with a list…most times, but is terrible at picking produce. He will just grab the first package he sees, or pick the pepper on top, not even looking to see if it’s good quality. Then he’ll get home & it’s all gnarly & bad. Sigh. Haha. I don’t mind, I love grocery shopping, but I can’t always get to it.
Morgan says
Hahhaha the best. Alex isn’t too bad, mostly because he’s pretty neurotic/a huge germaphobe about that kind of thing. I’m the one that’s like, oh, that’s fine, you can still totally use that.
Emily says
Aww, it looks like you had a lot of precious time with sweet little ones. Praise the Lord for the gift of new life and smiles and bundles of joy!
Morgan says
We definitely do! Thanks for stopping by, Emily!

The picture of him with a yogurt beard.. haha too funny!

“I think the worst part about being stuck at home is that Alex is doing my grocery shopping” <- pretty much my worst nightmare 😛 I will grocery shop even when sick because Jesse never manages to get what I want/need or manages to buy everything BUT what I need, haha! I've even told friends that instead of bringing over meals when we have a baby one day, I'll just give them parts of my grocery list to get so I know I'll have food to eat 😛 (as I'm the only coeliac in our church so no one ever has any idea what to cook for me)
Wrap carriers have always made me nervous, too. I nannied for a couple of families who used them too and if I ever used them, I would be holding the baby whilst in the sling because I didn't trust it!
Morgan says
Hhahahahah that’s great! I just don’t understand how I can send him out with a list of like, 10 things max, and he comes back with 5 of those and 10 things I didn’t need what so ever. And yeah, I can’t wait until Owen is big enough for the structured Ergo carrier – can’t really mess that one up, ha!
alexandra @ my urban family says
Your photos are seriously all so cute! And what is it about sending out men to do grocery shopping that just doesn’t seem to work? When I send my husband out he somehow comes back with less food and having spent more money.
Morgan says
HAHHA no, but really, Alex spends SO MUCH more money. I think he thinks he’s doing it “right” if he gets the more expensive version of something, and I’m just like, “No! Get the cheapest one you can find!!”
Heather@hungryforbalance says
Going grocery shopping is one of my favorite activities EVER, so I would be so sad to not be able to go. But, I do understand Alex’s reasons. Still, bring home bound does suck. At least you have those 2 cuties to keep you company! Here’s hoping you can get out soon.
Morgan says
I definitely do like going grocery shopping, which I never thought I’d say. It may just be my SAHM life where I’m like, “yeeeesss, let’s get out of the house, we’re all very stir-crazy!”
Sylvia @ Frolic Through Life says
Your boys are adorable! We were visited by the Easter bunny and my little man won a 22 pound chocolate Easter egg, so our house was chocolate central. We go to the NY Auto Show every year. My son loves cars and it great to let him try out all the cars without worrying he’ll mess something up in ours. 😉
Morgan says
Thanks so muhc, Sylvia! We love going to the Auto show! And now that the big boy is old enough to be totally obsessed with cars and “driving”, it’s even more fun. I totally feel you on the getting to play wiht cars without messing up yours!
Anna says
We didn’t celebrate Easter either. My husband is Jewish and we don’t have any family here so I totally dropped the ball. I did eat a chocolate bunny but I’m not sure that counts lol. Is it totally inappropriate for me to say that your boobs are looking amazing?! Probably, but I said it anyway. You are such a hot mama, girl! Glad to see you’re home and enjoying time with your boys. Thanks for taking time to share with us.
Morgan says
Hahah it’s not inappropriate – at least not to me, ha! I appreciate the compliment! One of the perks of nursing is definitely temporary awesome boobs, haahahha!
Morgan says
Not inappropriate – at least, not to me – it’s much appreciated! One of the perks of nursing is for sure great boobs, hahahha!
Jessie R Gipe says
Man! I’ve been out of the blogging loop for sometime now. I had no idea you gave birth to your little one. What a cutie pie! Keep up the great work, girl. I can only imagine your a bit tired. Do you have family around to assist if need be?
Morgan says
Thanks, Jessie! I’m actually not too bad on the tired front – I think between being pregnant, the dog and Ryan I’ve been prepared for little sleep for months, ha! I have family relatively close, so they come when they can, but it’s mostly just me since they all work. But it’s hasn’t been too bad, so far! (knock on wood, ha!)
