Good Morning, friends! How was your week? How was the first week of the year? I know, right? Ours was super low key – I’ve been on the cusp of some kind of ick and attempting to delay it/not give it to anyone else. That being said, we did have a pretty good week!
I just want to start this (mostly because I’m stupid bundled as I type this and if I can’t complain about it here, where can I?) by whining about how damn cold it is. Not okay. I know a lot of places have it worse, like, the North Pole and Antartica (I kid – it’s only NJ. I’m just a total wimp) but I’m still not okay with this. Where can I go where the coldest it gets is like, maybe 50? But I also don’t want it above 85. And no crazy humidity or scary weather threats. Yeah, if the world could make a magical place like that, I would be pretty pumped.
Anyway, enough of my whining. Let’s talk about the good parts of our weeks, shall we?
First and foremost, if you read Friday’s post you saw that on Thursday I finally (after well over a year whining about how bad it’s gotten) went to a dermatologist about my eczema. I’ll probably do a more in-depth chat about it this or next Friday, but you guys,I seriously want to cry – I’m a totally different person. I wish I had taken before/after pictures so I could show you, but I think I can find at least one to show you around where I started. I still have about a week (unless everything clears up) on it but it’s been such an insane turn around.
Friday I gave this kid a tub and used the Paw Patrol bath fizzies I stuffed in his stocking and he was so intrigued.
This week I walked back into the kitchen after changing Owen and saw Ryan shaking the salt container – it was completely empty by the time I found him, but on the bright side, most of it had been dumped into this pot. (don’t worry, a lot was on the floor too..) Toddlers, yo.
With a chilly house comes the want to have my oven on 24/7, so I’ve been perfecting things like biscuits. I’d say I’m getting pretty close 😉 If you’re wondering, I pawn them off to Alex who usually will eat the entire batch once he comes home from work at 1 am.
Alex got a service truck this week and saying Ryan is ‘pleased’ is a HUGE understatement. He stares out the window all day talking about is. He’s convinced it’s a firetruck which has lead to a crazy firetruck obsession in our house. He literally watched over an hour of Youtube videos of fire trucks responding. And, yes, my mind is totally numb from the incessant sound.
To all of my BLW mommas – you know this face all too well. So gross, so proud. Owen’s finally getting into food which means he looks like this at least once a day. Super gross but also oddly satisfying.
If you’re donering, he was eating this (minus the greens I threw under there for myself) – super cheesy spaghetti squash pizza bake and omg, yes, I’m sharing soon.
Speaking of great food decisions – whole milk Chobani, maple syrup, blueberries, peanut butter, Annie’s bunnies, and sprinkles for fun in my new Dollar Spot Vanetine’s Day bowl <– you need it.
This kid is a major weirdo – he has a weird habit of using this road rug that my mom got him for Christmas as a blanket. Usually, he just lays on the floor and fake snores, but this day he dragged it onto the couch to watch some ‘toons and it killed me.
And to be honest, that’s all I’ve really been up to this week! Plus a bunch of random blogging stuff behind the scenes, but it was a pretty low key first week, which I’m more than happy to accept. So tell me – how was your first week of the year?! Let me know in the comments!
