33 Weeks

Wow, 33 Weeks! How on Earth am I down to just 7 weeks left in this pregnancy? I cannot wait to meet him. It’s interesting how much he’s already like Ryan – both boys were so active that I have never done kick counts; they really move around that much. I had hope that this little guy would be more low-key than his big brother, but from the looks of it, I’ll have 2 crazy active boys on my hands soon. The general consensus seems to be that if they’re active on the inside, they’ll be active on the outside! Anyway, let’s get into this week’s bumpdate!

Check out what's new at 33 weeks pregnant!

PLEASE NOTE: I’m at that holy cow am I tired place in this pregnancy. I’m sleeping like poo, waking up for multiple hours a night, plus chasing around a toddler with a death wish. (no, really though.) So please excuse crazy hair, no makeup, super old PINK sweats.

Cravings: Nothing, really. I’m kind of dying for pizza but I mean, there’s no difference there.

Aversions: I got Alex some fancy BBQ sausage from Texas and I swear, smoked meats are still not doing it for me. Ick.

Weight: I was weighed this week at my appointment and I’m up 25 pounds. Considering that I gained 65/70 pounds with Ryan, being within the “recommended” weight gain with only 7 (probably less!) weeks to go is very satisfying to me. Wondering what my secret is? Have a toddler. No, really. Ain’t nobody got time for weight gain when you’re keeping a toddler from killing himself 24/7.

New Things: I had my 32 week appointment this week, and I saw the doctor who delivered Ryan, which was fun. She came in and the first thing she said was, “You had a very fast delivery with your first, right?” She’d read my transfer paperwork, but not my file from when I used to be a patient at this practice and remembered me. She actually told me that I’m a, “very memorable pusher” which I mean, thanks for the compliment? Either way, baby sounds good and is measuring well. She’s predicting another little nugget (Ryan was 6 lbs, 4 oz) and they’re going to start monitoring me/checking me at 36 weeks because she wants to keep a close eye on my dilation – no one thinks I’m going to make it much past full term. I keep saying I’m going to have a St. Patrick’s Day baby! I think it would be cool since Ryan was born on Memorial Day. Holiday babies fo’ life.

Preparation: Much to my friend’s disappointment, (Sorry you can’t stalk me, Jenna!) not much. I have a list of things I need to get a move on, like the registry, (just for my benefit – I have BRU gift cards and you get 5-10% back on everything bought off your registry, so I’ll be saving money) checking the status of the packed away baby items, and taking exact notes of what sizes and numbers of clothes we have from Ryan. I DID have my dad bring over Ryan’s infant car seat so I can clean it and what not, though. So there’s that.

Other than that, it’s just been another week of kicks and waiting!

Haha I’m just hoping that I’m as good a pusher this time around, since I clearly have no idea what I “did” to be so memorable! hahah I figure it’s probably a pretty high compliment from an Obstetrician at a relatively large practice!

You go girl! You look great. I remember being pregnant with my baby while chasing a toddler around. It’s hard but having them so close in age is so fun. My girls are 24 Months apart and are super close. Much love to you.

I think that in the future I’ll be SO thankful that they’re close together. My brother and I are only 14 (!!!!!) months apart, and we loved it as kids. I can only imagine how 2 of the same gender will be together!

Looking fab! I was much more fit and active during my 2nd pregnancy for the same reason – toddlers don’t stop!!

You know, my mom always told me that she barely gained any weight with my younger brother because she didn’t have time and I thought she was just making excuses for why she gained so much with me! hahaha
