How’s your weekend going? Ours is going pretty well so far! I’m here for my 17 week bumpdate post, though, so let’s get to it!

Cravings: Still on the Chipotle. We got some on Wednesday because I’m spoiled and I’m praying for a trip this weekend. Also been having a mean craving for an everything bagel with cream cheese aaandd a big bowl of chili.

Aversions: I’ve been sick and not too, too hungry, but anything tomato-y or acidic has hurt my throat so I’ve been avoiding it.

Sleep: Like I said, being sick has been rough since I haven’t been able to breath really. Thankfully, I’m feeling mostly better and it’s all breaking up, mostly leaving me with a cough. Though, Ryan’s been waking up and nursing a lot more lately. On Thursday he was back down to only 3 wake-ups, so I took that as a sign as him not being sick/teething/whatever, soooo

Nursing: As of Friday, I cut out night nursing. It’s been hard guys. Once, we’re done/settled, I plan on doing a post on my experience with it, but it’s been rough. I’m typing this up Saturday, so obviously there’s not much I can comment on regarding it, but let’s just say that last night Ryan (“only”) woke up twice, and the first time took about 2 hours to get him back to sleep while the second took an hour. So it was a rough night. Here’s to an easier night tonight!

Anything Else? I had my first Braxton Hicks on Wednesday. Last pregnancy, I have then consistently from 20 weeks+ which was such a pain. I think it was mostly because I was attempting to clean and that was when the coughing started, aka a lot of working mah abs, so there’s that. I’ve had a few since, so I guess this baby is just an overachiever and wants to beat his/her brother from the beginning. Ahh, siblings.

Also, Tuesday we have our 16 week appointment. I was supposed to go on Thursday, but I had scheduled it before Alex started his new job, so we rescheduled it for an earlier time so he could join and hear the baby(‘s heartbeat) for the first time!

Anyway, I’ve got a cranky kiddo to attend to and a birthday party to head out to, so I’ll see you all later!

I’m so glad! It can definitely turn some people away! (Which is why I post it on Sundays when it’s slower :)) And I don’t know, but I don’t want to be friend with those people!

Praying for an easier night for you! Props to you for being firm and going cold turkey with the nursing. I feel like I really really need to, but I am struggling with it. I am afraid that we won’t be able to have another baby and I am just not ready to let that go. Silly, right?
I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

DEFINITELY not silly. It’s a very emotional experience. Knowing that you’re providing your child with something that no one else can give them is an empowering and connecting thing. And I’m sure that’s even more difficult when you’re trying to figure out the future of your family as well. I’m only going cold turkey because we were at a point where I felt like we had to, other wise I would nurse Ryan as long as he felt he needed it, or until I felt her was 100% ready! AS moms, we need to go with our guts!

I hear you on the Chipolte! I could eat it every day this pregnancy!

I’m crossing my fingers you will have an easier night tonight! The night wake ups can be tough when they come in multiples!

Right?! Everytime my husband asks what I want for dinner, I just stare at him, like, uhh, you know already.
