It seems that I’m joining the club. A few clubs, actually. For one, the bloggers club, a club I’ve talked about joining for a very long time now. At this same moment, I’m also joining another club.
Yeaup, you got it. I’m 15 weeks pregnant with my first child, due June 4, 2014. I’m going to be a mom. A mom. Wow. Even though I (and anyone who will talk to me for more than two minutes) have known for the vast majority of these 15 weeks, it still feels surreal typing that.
Mostly, because I have NO idea how on EARTH I am going to pull this one off. I’ve always been a fake it till you make it gal, but I don’t really know if that’s applicable or acceptable in motherhood. In fact, I know very little about motherhood, other than what I’ve experienced from my own mom or from what I’ve read. (and let me tell you. I. have. read.)
Regardless, I know I’ll figure this out. And I hope you’ll come along with me on this ride that I know for sure will be so incredibly fulfilling, hilariously embarrassing, and unbelievably real.
My mission for this blog is to document the journey of managing to become a mommy openly and real – no sugar coating, no holds barred. Along the journey, I plan to mix in tips on how I’m (attempting) keeping it together, recipes for the food that’s keeping me sane, happy, and healthy, and the adventures that my husband, the Mechanic, our dog, Cooper, and I take part in. (expect the occasional guest appearance from our own grumpy cat, Molly, as well!)
Stay tuned – next up, meet the mommy-to-be!
