Happy Friiiiidayyy! How was your week? Good? I hope so. Mine was actually really exciting and spent in CAR DEALERSHIPS! most mornings, so that was fun. Side note: if you ever see a flustered momma struggling to keep her cool chasing after a toddler who’s getting bored and restless, tell her her kids are well behaved. (also, thank you woman at the dar dealership who proceeded to tell me my kids were being good as one fussed in the carrier and the other ran all over the place, trying to lick the showroom cars. I needed that.)
The MomMobile. Do you remember when I was all vague for the past few days about something exciting? And then I said it really wasn’t that exciting for anyone but me? Yeah, well, we bought a new car! A minivan, to be exact. I know. I didn’t want to say it outright since we have a tendency to plan things and then never go through with them, especially big purchases. We’ve been trying to figure out what to get since we needed a bigger car for me eventually but also wanted a road trip mobile. We got very, very close to buying a small RV which would have been perfect for day trips and road trips, which is something we’re really big on.
Alex has been suggesting a minivan for MONTHS now, and I kept rebelling because, ew, minivan. I really wanted a third row and captain seats, but all of the SUV’s that I wanted were either too much or not approved by my mechanic husband. And then for whatever last weekend I agreed to go look at them with the understanding that I needed to keep an open mind. (Truth: he showed me all of the cool options.) Long story short, I fell in love hard and I can’t even take it. It’s everything we could ever need for the boys+roadtrips and also something I would feel comfortable driving day to day. We got a really good deal, so that just was the cherry on top. (we actually traded in my Fit, which we bought the day after I found out I was pregnant with Ryan. I have to say, I was kind of sad and weirdly emotional to see it go – I brought home 2 babies in that car, it was my first ‘big girl’ car, we moved to our house in it, I’ve been in labor in it.. a lot of memories!)
Owen’s jumpy. Ohhhhh I forgot how lovely it is to have a jumpy. While Owen isn’t in it for hours on end (like Ryan was as a baby, omg he loved that thing) I can usually get up to 20 minutes of hands-free time. It’s amazing and it feels good to be able to get stuff done.
The 100. Have any of you ever heard of this show? I watched the first season when it first came on Netflix and then started watching season 2 as it aired, but ever since I started binging shows, I find it really hard to watch them in ‘real time’. (Am I the only one?) So now I’m watching seasons 2 and 3 on Netflix and YouTube and omg, so good. If you’re into sci-fi/dystopian stuff, give it a chance.
Book of the Month. I’m sure you’re tired of hearing about it, but can you guys help me outtt? I cannot decide between the books for this month!! I’m stuck between a romance-y novel about a couple’s vacation that gets messy, (Siracusa) and a “Agatha Christie” esque mystery with passengers disappearing on a boat. (The Woman in Cabin 10) The other 3 options are looking awesome as well, but those 2 are calling me. I may just need to bit the bullet and get both! If you’re intrigued, you can try out Book of the Month Club for $5 for your first month using the code READ5! (you can thank me later ;))
