Happy Friday, my lovely friends! How was your week? My week of inspiration and motivation continued into this week which has really just been wonderful.
Not wonderful? The 2 hour thunderstorm and downpour on Wednesday that resulted in a tree falling riiiiight on the power line next to our house. Yes, I’m thankful that our cars and house and property, in general, were totally fine (I have really bad luck with trees falling on my cars..) but the tree fell at 6 meaning from 7 – midnight+ there were cars and trucks coming up our normally dead quiet little street. It was fun while Ryan was awake because he got to see fire trucks and police cars and a tree truck and other fun stuff, but once he was asleep it was kind of the worst since Alex and I just wanted to sleep but Cooper needed to bark at the intruders.
All things considered, it was totally fine and we had power relatively soon and used our generator until we went to bed. During Sandy we had zero power for 11 days and an entire tree fell trapped my car underneath so, you know, could have been worse.
But you know. I would have really loved the sleep. Because I really love sleep.
Know what else I love? Friday Favorites! Friday favorites is here again, where I share some of my favorite things and moments that happened over the past week. Let’s get to it!
My mom came up this week and took the boys and me out shopping and for lunch and I scored big with this crazy comfy Victoria’s Secret Pink hoodie. TBH I’m not sure if moms are allowed to wear PINK clothes, but they so stinking comfy and I figure so long as it’s not plastered across my behind. RIGHT?! (please agree!)
Last week I talked about how I was working on a bunch of different blog projects after really figuring some things out and I was SO excited to show them to you all. One of them was this Building Momfidence email challenge and Facebook group. I have gone on some serious rants to friends and family about how frustrating I find it when moms I know or meet online lack the confidence they need to trust in themselves as parents – heck, I’ve done it too! It’s hard. It’s why I created my new Building Momfidence 5-day email challenge to help teach you to overcome your own problems and trust in your own instincts. I would love if you joined the Facebook group!! It’s already becoming SUCH an awesome place that I’m so, so excited about. Also head over to the post where I talk about Building Momfidence to join the challenge!!
Starbucks Summer Game.
It’s no surprise I love me some Bucks. If you have a Starbucks account, you probably already know about the summer game to win you free stars and drinks, but if you don’t – log in and start playing! It’s like the one they do for Christmas but a little different. Looking for more ways to get free Starbucks? Make sure you check out my post, How to Get Free Starbucks for more ways to get free drinks!
As a kid, I was a Band-Aid addict. I was that kid putting them on imaginary boo-boos. While Ryan has done that once or twice I’ll admit that it was kind of my fault because he just thought it was a sticker. Anyway, yesterday Ryan was running full speed on the sidewalk leading to our front door and totally face planted. He was fine after a second or two, but I saw the scratch/bump on his head and knees starting right away. We went inside to clean them out and the only way I got him to not punch me in the face while I cleaned it out with alcohol was the promise of a Lightning McQueen Band-Aid. So, my sincerest thanks to Band-Aids for being the coolest and being good bribery.
And that’s about it, my friends! I’m off to attempt to sleep a human amount at some point. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to see what’s going on (I’m trying to get better with stories and I think if I had my favorites checking me out, I would be more likely ;))
Let me know in the comments what you’ll be up to this weekend!
