Oh, hey, how’s it going, good? Great. Yeah, so, funny story – I stayed up Wednesday night putting together an OG Thinking Out Loud post. Oh, and then I went to go check on it to start this post and realized that I literally scheduled it to go out next week. Because I’m apparently cool like that. So ya know – there’s that.
So how was your week? Mine was really good, though full of, omg, my baby is growing up emotions that TBH I’m not sure I’m ready for. This week we toured a few preschools for Ryan in the fall and even though I know it’s a good choice, I’m all emotional momma over here because, I mean, we’re literally always together. He’s been my main dude for almost 3 years now and what will I do with him gone in the mornings a few days a week?! Oh, yeah, corral maniac #2 😉
And then that happened. Alex has been bugging me – rightly so – to do something with Ryan’s hair. I cut it myself, but it’s super thick and grows quickly, so keeping it looking decent is a hassle. So I sucked it up and gave him a buzzcut and excuse me while I go cry in the corner. He looks so adorable but so grown up and what the heck, guys. He doesn’t care at all obvi, but everytime I see him I’m like, oh, hey, so when are you going to start paying rent?
Anyway, let’s get to the rest of the Friday favorites!
Numero uno – THE WEATHER! It’s back to being a bit chilly comparatively, but still nice, and earlier this week it was low 80’s. We had a blast hanging out in the yard. I can’t get over this picture of Ryan looking like a little gangster on his Paw Patrol bike with a juice box.
And this little dude, just wandering around. We bought him those little red Toms a month or so ago and I’m obsessed. Truth be told, part of it is because I have the same pair in my size and will do whatever I can to match them since I have boys and not little girls who can wear mommy and me outfits..
Not so favorite: My Monday. This week started how everyone wants to start their Monday – by waiting at the register with 2 cranky kids and a cart full of bagged groceries while your poor husband rushes down to pay for it. Turns out, I had a fraudulent charge on my card over the weekend which suspended it. I just needed to go to a branch to get a new one, but obviously, I needed my groceries first. I usually go shopping in the morning while Alex sleeps since he works second shift, and all I can say is thank God he always keeps his phone on loud, and he sure is a saint for waking up and getting to us in less time than it usually takes me to get the kids in the car and drive to the store.
Halo sticker map. Has anyone else seen these? If you get Wonderful Halos (the clementine/mandarin/whatever brand) you may have seen the little stickers with states on them. Well, you can actually download a map and add your stickers to it! It’s weirdly satisfying and fun, and I’ve been enjoying teaching Ryan a little bit about each state we collect. I think once you collect them all, you can send in your completed map for a prize or something which is cool. It’s a fun way to get your kids involved in the US and teach them a little bit about different states. Oddly enough, I’ve yet to get anything on the west coast!
Weekend plans. Today I’m headed to the zoo with one of my best friends and her 2 littles which will be a blast, and then on Sunday Alex and I are taking the boys to the NY Auto Show. It’s supposed to be gorgeous on Sunday, and Alex took Ryan on Easter last year. (Owen was barely 2 weeks old so we stayed home and I remember wearing him and cleaning the house in complete silence – something that will never happen again.)I love when it starts warming up and we add fun to our weekends!
Okay, so tell me – what are you up to this weekend?
