If you couldn’t tell, my children apparently hate me (and each other?) and have spent every morning this week waking up sometime between 3:45 and 5 am. Inevitably, if one decided magically to stay asleep or fall back asleep, the other would wake up early and wake him up. It’s been a hot mess.
I can only think to blame Ryan’s transition to a ‘big boy’ bed – he’s having a hard time falling asleep and then waking up s early, so I can’t imagine he’s feeling too hot in the sleep category. Do any of you awesome mommas have tips for combatting this? It’s not a light issue or a noise issue – the house is silent and it’s completely dark out when he first wakes up so I have no freaking idea.
Anyway, let’s talk about the highlights of the week! Although it might not seem it since I can’t stop complaining, this was actually a pretty good week! We had a snow storm on Thursday giving Alex a day off which was nice, thought I have not a single photo of the day? Fine by me since hey, snow, PLEASE GO AWAY. On top of it, we had a super crazy day or sleet, snow, rain that left a solid inch of ice on EVERYTHING Sunday. Seriously, how do people actually enjoy and prefer this season? But enough of that, let’s talk about fun stuff!
Like the fact that 4 am wake ups mean that Ryan is pooped mid-day requiring a nap. This day, I actually came out of the room after putting Owen to sleep, and Ryan has fallen asleep on the couch on top of his raising cup. Nothing like that (falling sleep without a long conversation/lots of cajoling) has ever happened before which shows me how tired he is.
On top of snow and sleet and ick, we’ve had rain followed by a 60 degree sunny day. Seriously, weather, get it together.
Still loving playing with hot rollers. Anything where I can get the kids to nap while working on my hair at the same time is a win.
Ryan;s really into coloring right now and once he’s done he choses a spot for me to tape it to the wall. He loves admiring his ‘art gallery’
Saturday I had to run down to the cable place to get a new modem which apparently fried and this kid passed out of the way home. Not pictured: crazy undereye bags, ridiculously greasy roots, and a very much NOT asleep infant.
Hi, I’m a SAHM of 2 under 3 and I haven’t used the bathroom alone during daylight hours in 2 years.
Who else is loving these adorable coffee sleeves for Valentine’s Day? I can’t even take it.
I think my favorite thing in the world is sleeping on clean sheets. After I stripped our bed, the boys decided it was the perfect spot to hang out.
Okay, friends, I’m off to go sit in a hole with a lampshade on my head praying my kids sleep to a reasonable hour tonight. WISH ME LUCK!
So tell me – what are you kid sleep tips?! Did you do anything fun this weekend? Let me know in the comments.
